About Us
TrailsWeb LLC
TrailsWeb was established in 2002. We initially specialized in software and web development. We discovered
that the market specifically for small and medium sized businesses was underserved. We honed our focus and
attracted some of the finest writing and graphic design talent to do the job right. Check out a sample of the
hundreds of websites for small businesses we've developed on our Portfolio page.
President - Josh Whitman
From a young age, Josh Whitman's brain was wired for computer programming. From age thirteen, Josh was staying
up till dawn writing computer code in the era of the BBS (bulletin board system - a dial-in website before the
Internet). Today, Josh only stays up until 3 a.m. solving complex computer programming challenges. Then he
plays with his dogs to unwind.
Josh attended Cornell University for two years. He was in high demand as a talented software developer and
programmer and knew his vision was to develop his own company, so he left the University and started TrailsWeb.
If your website will be doing more than just delivering information, he can help you design, develop and implement it.
A gifted "computer geek" in his own right, Josh is also very personable, outgoing, and an avid outdoorsman.
Mike Pierce
Mike Pierce brings 10+ years of graphic design to his work. He is computer savvy with the entire Adobe Suite, HTML,
CSS and Search Engine Optimization. Mike is talented with JavaScript and ASP.net. Mike is creative, easy-going, and
very pleasant to work with whether you're a customer or co-worker.
Mike has a B.S. in Electronic Media with a Minor in Visual Communication from Northern Arizona University.
He fits the definition of a true Virgo; good at planning and organizing with a keen interest in the visual arts. He
aims for the top and is satisfied only when he reaches it.
Kathryn Peterson
Kathryn has a B.A. degree in Human Communication and Journalism from Arizona State University. She was the assistant
to the Dean of Libraries, Press and Archives at New York University. Kathryn also has a Master's degree in Clinical
Social Work from the University of Texas at Austin. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and has worked as a
psychotherapist for over 25 years. In 2007, she scraped her name off of the door of her private practice office and
redesigned her life to resume her initial interest in written communication.
She is excellent at interviewing and listening to people. She gets enthusiastic about the interests and pursuits of
our clients. Our customers have been delighted and relieved to entrust the actual copy writing for their sites to
Kathryn. She will research your industry and competition, interview you, cultivate your site's page and file names,
research and incorporate important keywords into your copy for search engine visibility and write the content for each
page. She types over 90 words per minute. She cultivated that skill back when it was called "typing". When she first
came to work here, she thought HTML was short for Hotmail. She is the token office "noob" but she's a quick study.
